Course Expectations
Hillcrest's Music Enrichment Program believes that music has the capacity to change the world one listener at a time. Mornings at Hillcrest are dedicated to this transformative process with band rehearsals on Mondays and Wednesdays, Guys' Chorus on Tuesdays and Girls' Choir on Thursdays. All groups are non-auditioned, but these courses are assessed with each musician receiving three report cards per year. The programme is performance based and Hillcrest's groups have been a consistent presence at District events, music festivals and other stages all over the Lower Mainland. Studies have shown that music students are more successful at school, but perhaps more important is the culture that this Department brings to the rest of the school. Culture is cool and contagious - welcome to a wonderful experience!
